Patent Analysis

Patent is a kind of specific literature which includes technical, legal and economic information, and plays an important role in scientific and technological research and development, intellectual property protection and so on.

The main application of patent intelligence analysis includes:

Pre-retrieval of scientific program

◆ Purpose: Retrieving at the novelty of programs and enable the scientific and research staff to acquire full understanding of related literature, measure the feasibility of the program, avoid the repetitive work and provide reference materials for the conduct of the program.

◆  Service Objective: entities and individuals who are planning for applying for various programs.

◆  Content: including the retrieval reports of international literature and patents and offer relative literature and patent resources.

◆ Demand: the client should offer the technological context, English and Chinese key words of the program. 

Pre-retrieval service before applying

◆ Purpose: To search for the novelty of the patents, so that the applicants can fully understand the existing literature before writing the patent documents so as to early disclosure the literature and avoid the scope of protection of existing patents, reduce blind applications and improve the possibility of authorization.

◆ Service Objects: mainly the entities or individuals who are preparing for the Chinese patents, PCT patents, US patents, European patents or other designated national patents.

◆ Basic content of the report: worldwide patent search reports, and relevant patent information.

◆ Requirements: The client must provide the basic text description, technical background, Chinese and English keywords or IPC patent classification number of the invention

Institutional patent competitiveness analysis service

◆ Purpose: to make objective assessment and advice on the procedure of the targeted patent to complete the following work.

◆ Service Object: universities and colleges, scientific research center, research group on major projects, government entities, enterprises, etc.

◆  The basic content of the report: the macro analysis of the agency's patents, including changes in the number of applications, the distribution of patents, inventors’distribution, patent transferee, etc. as well as high-strength patents' analysis and patent list.

◆ Requirements: The client shall provide the name of the institution which should be analyzed, including its English and Chinese names, former Chinese and English names, and the Chinese and English names of the merged bodies or subordinates which may be involved.

 Subject patent analysis service

◆ Purpose: It is mainly used to analyze the patent of the main research direction of the inventor, to help the inventor to organize their own legal patent status, to explore the important patents and investigate and analyze the similar patents in one single technological field in order to provide the guidance for the follow-ups.

◆ Service object: mainly the colleges and universities, research institutes, professors, experts and individuals.

◆ The basic content of the report: patent search results and analysis, including application trends, annual trends of authorized paten, hot spots of patent application technology, competitive situation, etc; analysis of high-strength patents; the summary of the inventors’ patents.

◆ Requirements: The client should provide a list of the published patents, confirm the technical points of the single technical field and the corresponding Chinese and English keywords for further analysis.

Major Patent Service of National Patents of Science and Technology

◆ Purpose: Based on the requirements of the Temporary Regulations of the Management of the Major National Intellectual Property Rights of Science and Technology, Firstly ,to compile the Science and Technology Major Patent Strategy Analysis Report, and enact the precaution system of Major Patent Projects of Science and Technology. The "Science and Technology Major Patent Strategy Analysis Report" is used to supplement the part of the intellectual property rights and the analysis results are served as important references for the formulation of the five-year implementation planning, annual plan and project declaration guidance.

◆ Service objectives: scientific and technological project group, universities, research institutes and large-scaled enterprises.

◆ The main content of the report: the summary of the search results; the core technology patent layout analysis, including the technology global / Chinese patent annual development trend, inventor and applicant states’ distribution, patent distribution, IPC distribution, and global / Chinese competition gap analysis; Risk and coping strategies, including the distribution of important patentees in Chinese patent, patents involved, patent analysis of objections.

◆  Requirements: The client should provide the technical point of the project planning research as well as the list of relevant patent numbers.

The periodical early warning service on patents

◆  Purpose: To carry out dynamic tracking and early warning of designated patents or d technical fields, establish early warning mechanism, advance warning risks and prevent infringement.

◆  Service objectives: mainly the major science and technology project groups, research institutes, enterprises or individuals.

◆ Basic content of the report: the early warming of the new patents, including the new patents’ applications, the new patents’ license, the new patent families; patent legal status of the early warning, including the new invalid patents, the new patents’ transfer, the new patents’ infringement; the early warning of the changing strength; newly involved patent infringement; newly cited patents’ warning and so on.

◆  Requirements: the objects of early warning can be a single patent, multiple patents or designated technical fields. If it is the patent, patent disclosure number should be provided; if it is the designated technical fields, Chinese and English keywords need providing.Detailed Information should be determined by the two parties, patent information services for the fee service.
